Kids Learn to Tie at Highland Sportsman Print E-mail
Sunday, 16 July 2006
ImageThe Highland Sportsman club contacted the chapter last week about participating in their Kids Day where kids learn about different types of hunting and fishing as well as organizations that help conserve the resources that make these sports possible. Roger Duckworth, Steve Fry, Pam Glasser, Debrah Prytula, Robert Prytula, Laura Wilson, and Robert Wilson, attended the event. We taught kids how to tie flies. We discussed very briefly entomology and why one would use a certain fly (using some of Dan Raley's flies as examples) and then taught the kids how to tie a woolly worm. The kids had a great time and thanks to those that were able to help on such short notice.
