This month we'll start a new meeting agenda item called Stream of the Month. Each month, a member will introduce a stream, provide stream information, and discuss their fishing experience on the Stream of the Month. You'll learn about where to fish, what type of fish to expect, what flies to use, and other tips related to these streams. Although members can discuss any stream, we'll try to focus on streams around the Tellico watershed, the area we do most of our conservation work. This month's Stream of the Month is McNabb Creek. Jim Herrig, from the National Forrest Service, will do a presentation on the current status of McNabb Creek. Last fall, we moved out the Rainbow Trout and brought in Southern Brook Trout hoping to revitalize the brookies. His presentation will explain how the brookies are doing and what our next steps might be. Jim will also discuss a chapter snorkeling trip to the Conasauga River, scheduled for June 3rd. The Forrest Service will provide wet suits, snorkels and fins, and Jim will take us swimming with the fish! |
