Jim Herrig, a Forest Aquatic Biologist for the Cherokee National Forrest Service, will be the featured speaker. The topic will be the “20th Annual Brook Trout Restoration Project”. This project has been very successful. It has allowed Brook Trout to flourish. Please plan on joining us to continue this restoration process. Jim also reports that other head water streams are doing excellent. The drought wiped out larger fish larger, than six inches, but there was a great spawning season last year and there are many fast growing fish. He also indicated that by October there will be many six to eight inch fish and that there should not be any reason that anyone should be able to catch 50 trout in a day. |
