Sportsman's Day at Wolf Creek. Print E-mail

A call for volunteers to help assist with casting lessons and recruiting for Trout Unlimited.  Saturday November 10, 2007 from 2 pm until 7 pm at the Wolf Creek Baptist Church in Spring City, TN.  Wolf Creek is having a sportsman’s day and has asked if the Appalachian Chapter of TU would assist with this endeavor.  For directions and other information, call Robert Prytula at 876-0937.

 
Highland Sportsman's Kids Day Help Needed Print E-mail

The Highland Sportsman Club has invited TU to participate in their annual Kid's Day on July 21st. Last year they had all kinds of kid activities like fly tying, archery, bird house making, hunter education, etc. We need at least four tiers to help teach fly tying from around 9:00 until around noon. If you are interested, please let us know.

The Appalachian Chapter of Trout Unlimited was invited to a Sportsman's banquet held at Wolf Creek Baptist Church. Other participants included Ducks Unlimited, TWRA, professional bass fishermen, and other outdoors types. ACTU members demonstrated fly tying, taught fly rod casting and discussed our Brook Trout conservation efforts. There was a good turn out, they had a large selection of door prizes, and the food was great.

Sportsman Dinner at Wolf Creek Baptist Church Print E-mail

ACTU has been asked to teach fly casting and fly tying at the Sportsman's Dinner at Wolf Creek Baptist Church in Dayton, TN on December 2nd. They want us to be ready at 2:00. If you can assist in this event, your help is needed. Here are directions:

From Chattanooga take Highway 27 North toward Spring City.  Approximately 16 miles North of Dayton, you will turn right on Highway 68 South toward Sweetwater. Go approximately 2 miles and you will see the Sportman Dinner signs on the left. Turn left at the convenience store/Wolf Creek Fire Department and  the church is about 1/4 mile on the left.

ACTU Helps Casting for Recovery Print E-mail

Saturday October 28 was a cold and windy morning.  A brisk wind was blowing over the river.  Now, before you get too far along, this is not a fishing trip story.  This is a story of helping out a good cause.  In fact, people gave up their Saturday to fish to help out with Casting for Recovery.
