In lieu of a meeting this month, the Appalachian TU Christmas party will be held at Charles Bagley's House on 14 December 2006. The event will start at 6:30 PM. Charles will furnish some how finger foods i.e., Pigs in blanket, miniature kish, and drinks. Bring a favorite desert or chip and dip if you like. An RSVP would be appreciated, 614-4596. Directions: From Chattanooga
Travel I-75 to Cleveland Exit 27(Fireworks Store Exit). Take Exit 27 ramp and go right at end or ramp onto Highway 64 East-Ocoee. Go 6.2 miles , exit right to Highway 64 East -Ocoee. Go 4.0 miles and turn left on Hancock Road at Ocoee Winery. Travel 3/4 mile to 4-way stop. Turn left at 4-way stop onto Old Parksville Road and proceed to the third driveway on the left. Charles's house is the chalet style house approximately 300 feet up this driveway.

From where Highway 60 crosses I-75 drive 4.3 miles and take the Highway 64 East -Ocoee exit. Travel Highway 64 East 4.0 miles and turn on Hanciock Road at the Ocoee Winery. When: November 16th, at 6:30 PM Dane Law of Southern Anglers will present Our Favorite Waters. Dane's presentation will feature information and tidbits about the Hiwassee, Taccoa, Tellico, Clinch, Holston and Cumberland watersheds. What: Appalachian Chapter of Trout Unlimited Monthly Meeting
Where: Greenway Farm off of Gann Store Road in Hixson
When: October 19th, at 6:30 PM
Why: Wendy Williams will present her Canada fishing trip.
On August 13th-18th, Wendy Williams fished the Highwood River in Canada. At this month's meeting, she'll discuss the types of fish she caught, the guide service she used, and her accomodations. She'll have photos and brochures from this beautiful area and of course some stories of the ones she caught and the big ones that got away. |

What: Appalachian Chapter of Trout Unlimited Monthly Meeting
Where: Greenway Farm off of Gann Store Road in Hixson
When: September 21st, at 6:30 PM
Why: Hear about Cutthroat Conservation In Southwest Montana This month, Pete LaRochelle, a Science teacher at McCallie School, will make a presentation titled, "Cutthroat Conservation In Southwest Montana." This presentation will describe the effort to use Ted Turner’s 115,000 acre Flying D Ranch south of Bozeman, Montana as an incubator drainage in an effort to restore and augment populations of the Western Slope Cutthroat. From July 26 to August 11, 2006 four McCallie students and two teachers took part in the fish eradication and juvenile release portions of the project. In addition to the presentation, we'll have our annual elections. We'll also have snack food and drinks.

The Appalachian Chapter or Trout Unlimited is selling hats. They will be available at our chapter meeting on August 17th. Hats are $15.00 a piece or two for $25.00. If you are unable to make the meeting and are interested in purchasing one, contact Steve Fry at 423.432.2210.
