ACTU Helps Casting for Recovery
Monday, 13 November 2006

Saturday October 28 was a cold and windy morning.  A brisk wind was blowing over the river.  Now, before you get too far along, this is not a fishing trip story.  This is a story of helping out a good cause.  In fact, people gave up their Saturday to fish to help out with Casting for Recovery.

Tennessee Overhill Fishing Report - November 2006
Monday, 13 November 2006
Tellico River - Water levels are approaching the normal fall mark. Water
temperatures are cool and fluctuating with the daily ambient temperature.
The leaf fall is near complete. It is time to start back wearing waders
here. The delayed harvest section is in full swing. The area with special
regulations is from Turkey creek up to the mouth of the North River. The
river is fishing well for both stocked rainbows and wild trout. The browns
are more aggressive as they are feeling the spawning urge. Both the North
and Bald rivers are in good shape and fishing well. Nice afternoons are
allowing some dry fly fishing here also.

Not What I Had Planned -- Again
Sunday, 12 November 2006

I decided to go out and do some trout fishing for myself.  I haven’t fished for myself in some time.  I checked the local streams in the area via the TVA website and found that all the dams in my area would be flowing at least two generators.  Why am I not surprised that one of the few weekends I have totally free, the dams decide to flow copious amounts of water?  Just my luck.

Let's Go Fishing Out West
Thursday, 26 October 2006
Hello, my name is Charles Bagley.  I have fished in the western states every summer since 2000, the year I retired. I am interested in getting a group from our chapter on a fishing trip out West. I am willing to act as a chairperson for planning the trip. Those interested would be fully involved in planning all facets of the trip. We will meet either before or after the Appalachian Chapter's monthly meeting and begin to put some ideas together. Hopefully, we can minimize cost and maximize our fishing experience. If you are interested, please send your name, email address, and phone number through the Chapter's Contact Us menu on our web site.
