Luca Adelfio is traveling the country, trying to fish the "100 Best Trout Streams" as defined in John Ross' book and learn about TU chapters' conservation efforts. We were lucky enough to have Luca visit with members of the Hiwassee, Little River, and Appalachian Chapters of TU during his trip.

Brook trout are the only trout native to the eastern United States. Their numbers have diminished over the past decades to levels that threaten their extirpation in many areas. Trout Unlimited has initiated a program – Eastern Brook Trout Joint Venture – to restore these beautiful fish to portions of their original range. The Appalachian Chapter of Trout Unlimited (Chattanooga Area) has been working with a number of partners to restore brook trout to streams in the Tellico Area on the Cherokee National Forest.

In April, we'll have fly casting instruction, casting competitions, and hot dogs. We'll have several fly rods to use, but it you have one to bring, please bring it. If the weather is a problem, we will have fly tying demonstrations.
